There’s just something about maternity sessions that gets me every single time. Maybe it’s the excitement, maybe it’s the emotion, maybe it’s the fact that bump days feel a lifetime away for me now… but honestly? I am obsessed.
And with all the gorgeous maternity enquiries popping into my inbox lately, I’m basically doing little happy dances in my kitchen.
Because I LOVE these sessions. They pull me right back into that surreal, wonderful, slightly “oh my god what is happening to my body” phase of pregnancy.
When Maternity Sessions Just Flow
Occasionally, a session just flows.
No awkward posing.
No “what do I do with my hands?”.
No stiff smiles that look like you’re being held hostage.
Just pure, soft, glowy, emotional loveliness.
Sometimes the light is dreamy, the vibe is calm, and I’m stood there thinking,
“Yep… this is the good stuff.”
And don’t even get me started on black and white maternity photos.
They are the biggest serve.
Soft. Dreamy. Emotional.
Basically the visual equivalent of a deep, content sigh.
Those in-between moments — the smiles you don’t realise you’re making, the little snuggles, the hands on the bump — they get me every single time.

A Moment You’ll Miss Before You Even Realise It’s Gone
Okay, confession time:
One of my biggest regrets is not having proper maternity photos taken.
I thought I’d remember everything — the bump shape, the flutters, the kicks, the feeling of “is that my baby or indigestion?”. But I blinked… and suddenly I had toddlers, school runs, arguments over shoes… and absolutely zero maternity photos to show for that time.
All I’ve got are a few mirror selfies and timer shots where I look slightly panicked. Iconic? Maybe. Cherished? Not so much.
So yes, maybe that’s why these sessions hit me right in the heart.
Because I get to give mums something I’ll never have — something real, tangible, beautiful from a chapter that disappears way quicker than anyone warns you about.
A mum said to me recently:
“I booked because I never want to forget this.”
And honestly? SAME.
I felt that.
Because these moments slip away faster than you expect… but the photos don’t.

THIS Is Why I Love It (And Why I’ll Talk About It Forever)
Everyone always says they wish they’d taken more bump photos — and trust me, I hear it constantly.
Because it’s not just about documenting a belly.
It’s about remembering the moment you paused your entire life for one second and thought:
“Wow… there’s actually a tiny person in there.”
The rolls.
The wriggles.
The pokes that make you jump.
The hands automatically drifting to your bump every five seconds, It’s all so small, so fleeting, and so unbelievably special.
And this is why I adore maternity sessions.
Why Bump2Baby has my whole heart.
Why I’ll never stop going on about them.
Bump2Baby: Your Story Before & After the Chaos Arrives
Bump2Baby sessions are my favourite because they tell the whole story — the before and the after.
In the maternity session, you’re glowing, excited, a bit emotional, maybe craving something weird.
And then weeks later you’re back with an actual baby in your arms — looking at me like,
“HOW was that inside me?!”
Honestly, the transformation never stops feeling magical.
I love being a tiny part of it — the calm before the storm… and the storm (a very cute storm, but still a storm).

To the Mamas-To-Be…
If you’re hovering on the fence about booking a maternity session, let me just nudge you gently (but lovingly) off it.
You will NEVER regret having these photos.
But you might regret not having them — ask literally any mum.
Because one day, the bump will be gone.
And you’ll be deep in nappies, snacks, bottles, and tiny socks that disappear into thin air.
And you’ll think…
“I wish I had more of that time.”
If you’re expecting and want to freeze this gorgeous, emotional, slightly wild chapter… I’d absolutely love to chat.
